Balancing Insert for Knee Arthroplasty Surgery

Precise 3D Printing of a Surgical Tool with Biocompatible Protection

For the company Prospon, we developed a balancing insert designed for use during knee arthroplasty surgeries. This component, which comes into contact with tissue in an open wound, is used to test joint mobility and is intended for short-term contact with tissue, lasting no more than one minute. The insert was printed using an Asiga MAX printer from biocompatible KeyPrint KeyGuide material, commonly used for dental implant templates. To preserve the necessary properties, the insert was cured in a protective atmosphere, ensuring safety and compatibility during surgical procedures.
